Bead & fishtail collection
Long ago in a workshop far, far away, I was making a ring with a silver bead soldered into the middle of the shank. The idea was that I should cut the bead down the middle and insert a gem stone bead. (A bit like this one but with a gem stone not a gold bead.)
As it happened it only soldered on one side. (The solder runs towards the hottest part of the metal so you have to be careful to heat all the parts evenly.) Looking at it I thought, 'There's something there but what can I do with the free end of the shank to make it a bit more interesting?'
The fishtail ring above was the result of this little escapade and it became immediately popular leading to first the bangle and then the earrings and pendant. It's another of those designs that works well because of its simplicity. Some people like involved designs in which there is always something else for the eye to discover but, personally, I prefer shapes and forms that the eye can take in at a glance and which have immediate appeal, and this collection does that for me.
