Diamond kiss collection
These designs originated from a Valentine's day idea, some years back.
Each piece is silver, inlaid with an 18ct gold cross or 'kiss' with a brilliant diamond set in the middle. I use a setting technique that I developed for the 'Mercury' gold ring, in which I cut two slots, crossing at right angles, and force the corners of the metal up to accommodate the diamond. These are then forced down over the girdle of the stone, securing it in place.
I tend to supply these pieces with a satin finish as it brings out the contrast between the metals better. (When jewellery is highly polished, there is so much white light bouncing off the surface that the colours tend to get lost.) This kind of finish also helps to bring out the sparkle of the diamond as well. In time the finish will wear down to a dull polish but you can rejuvenate it with a brush from a Scotchbrite pad. (Those green scratchy things you wash up with). If you would prefer to have your jewellery highly polished then please let me know in the 'Special Requests' section of the shopping cart when you check out.
