Necklaces and pendants from Jeremy Heber Jewellery
All pieces are designed and made by Jeremy Heber from the best materials and here in the U.K.
What are commonly called necklaces fall into two categories: necklaces and pendants. Necklaces have links and are continuous (literally a lace around the neck) whereas pendants hang from a chain as the name implies.
Technically, of course, a pendant has to hang on a necklace but, none the less, the distinction remains.I've grouped pendants and necklaces together in this section and you'll find that most of the designs fall into the pendant category although the few necklaces that I make at the moment do prove very popular especially the bead and hoop design and the Interlink necklace. Pendants, on the other hand, have the benefit of being cheaper to produce and easier to wear.
The chains that I use on my pendants are almost exclusively silver snake chains. These chime in with the design elements of the kind of jewellery that I make and are generally very popular. As standard the pendants go out on a 16” chain but I can supply other styles of chain and, of course, other lengths. Your best bet is to enter any request for a different chain into the Special Requests section of the shopping cart.
Materials:
The silver that I use in my necklaces and pendants is 925 or ‘Sterling silver’ This means that for every thousand parts, 925 are silver with the rest being made up of other metals. Each piece of jewellery carries a British hallmark verifying the metal so that you can buy with confidence. Cheaper silvers have 800 parts per hundred or less and these tend to be weaker and tarnish more easily. With so much cheaper imported silver work on the market these days, it is really worth looking for the hallmark to verify that you are getting something of value.Where I use gold it tends to be 9ct, especially when combined with silver but I am using 18ct more and more as it provides a deeper yellow and therefore a better contrast with the silver. For more discussions on gold and materials in general please see the Metals and carats page.
Quality:
Speaking of value I seek to offer something far above the imported goods. My pieces are hand made with care and I make sure that the quality is exceptional on every piece. You will find my pieces weighty as I don't skimp on materials and I attempt a very high level of finish on all my work. If you don't feel that you've received value for money I will always refund you but I think that you will find that, if you compare the jewellery with cheaper offerings then you will see a marked difference. |
