The Fishtail Jewellery Collection

My fishtail jewellery has always been among the most popular work in my range. It's simple and striking but it's unusual too.
I must be a genius.
Or it could all have come about as the result of a mistake.

Thing is, I was soldering a bead into a ring shank one day in preparation for making a ring with a stone bead in the middle. I would cut the gold bead down the middle and post the stone bead in between, leaving it free to swivel and generally annoy the wearer.
Unfortunately, it only soldered on one side, leaving the bead half attached.
Looking at it, something in the shape appealed to me and I thought, 'What could I do with the other side of the shank?' Ten minutes later I'd beaten hell out of it and shaped the rather ugly spade-end into an elegant fishtail.

If only I could come up with this stuff deliberately.
