Oars?
I've been making jewellery for the Regatta at Henley Upon Thames for a number of years and, over that time, we have developed new designs and retired old ones in order to keep the range looking fresh.
Aficionados of the sport of rowing will know that the shape of the oar blade has changed over time from the traditional form you can see in these pieces to the new 'chopper blade' which, I assume, confers some added benefit in pushing a willow-slim craft through the murky waters of the Thames.
The pieces that I have on offer on the site are predominantly the old shape and there are oar brooches, oar bangles and oar necklaces, all of which were made up as extra stock in the days when I supplied them to the Regatta and now are destined for the melting pot unless you take pity on them.
